Course 1 Description
The student will be taught how to prepare various recipes which have been selected to illustrate the preparation of a traditional English tea. They will be given an introduction into the history of tea, the vocabulary of the subject and related items including antique crockery and tea-ware. Access to reference material will be freely available. Also included in the course will be a visit to a local tea room and an accompanied trip for the student to purchase utensils and ingredients to take home.
As an optional extra the tutor will accompany the student on an excursion to the Bramah Tea Museum in London.
The course will culminate with an afternoon tea party hosted by the student.
In order to attend this course it is preferable that the student stays in local accommodation and we will be very happy to make these arrangements on your behalf. As a guide we would suggest that the student allows in the region of £50 per day. It is possible to arrange family-based accommodation.

Course 2 Description
A one day introduction into the history of tea, the vocabulary of the subject and related items including antique crockery and tea-ware. Academic links to other subjects such as literature, art and society. Access to reference material will be freely available.
Attendance hours 10.30am until 5.30pm.
Course fee : £110 per
person including light lunch with wine.
Maximum 2 persons
per session.
Course 3 Description
A one day brief introduction into the subject of English afternoon tea with baking. The student will be taught how to prepare several baking recipes which have been selected to illustrate part of the preparation of a traditional English afternoon tea. Access to reference material will be freely available.
Attendance hours 10.30am until 5.30pm.
Course fee : £125 per
person including ingredients, recipes and light
lunch.
Maximum 2 persons per session.
Terms and Conditions
Upon making a booking, a booking form will be sent to you via email. .
A booking will only be held for 5 days and will not be confirmed until the completed booking form and cleared funds, amounting to fifty percent (50%) of the course fee, are received by us. The remaining balance must be paid in cash upon presentation of our invoice at the start of the course.
The receipt of your deposit is understood to be your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
In the event of cancellation by you, which must be in writing, the following conditions will apply:
If notice is received 15 or more days before the start date agreed with us, the deposit will be refunded less a £25 administration fee. Where notice is received 14 days or less before the start date agreed, the client will lose the full deposit.
In the event of cancellation by us an alternative date will be offered to you. If it is not possible for you to attend on the alternative date, a full refund will be made to you. We cannot accept responsibility for any consequences or losses resulting from the cancellation by us of any booking made.
If a home-stay has been requested the full amount will be payable upon making the booking and is not refundable in the event of cancellation.
If a student requires a home-stay of more than one week then the first week's charge will be payable upon making the booking and is not refundable in the event of cancellation.
For students from overseas, no bookings will be accepted without confirmation that the relevent travel documents, including Visas, have been issued. Refusal by the UK Border Agency of entry into the UK, making it impossible for a student to attend a course, will constitute cancellation and result in loss of deposit.
It is important for you to advise us at the time of booking if you have an allergy to nuts. Whilst every effort will be made to exclude any nuts from dishes prepared in our kitchen, we cannot guarantee a totally nut free environment. This is due to the nature of worldwide food production.
Unless specifically agreed and confirmed in writing, no variations of the course start and finish times may be made. These times will include a one-hour lunch break.
Where light lunch is offered as part of the course, this will comprise sandwiches with either a cheese or fish filling and fresh fruit. Where wine is offered as part of the course this will be a 125ml glass of red or white wine.
Where you have requested the Bramah Tea Museum optional extra mentioned within the Course 1 Description, the time required to undertake that visit will constitute part of the 30 hours tuition time allocated to the course. This trip will require a full day of the course. Payment must be made prior to the date agreed for the visit.
The visit to the local tea-room and the shopping trip mentioned within the Course 1 Description will constitute part of the 30 hours tuition time allocated to the course.
